On October 6, 2024, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un to warmly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Xi Jinping pointed out that 75 years ago, China and the DPRK officially established diplomatic relations, opening a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations, which is of epoch-making significance. Xi Jinping stressed that he highly values the development of China-DPRK relations, noting that in recent years, he has met with General Secretary Kim Jong Un multiple times and maintained close communication through letters and messages, jointly guiding and promoting the in-depth development of China-DPRK relations.
